ABOUT US

The WARRIOR WOMEN PROJECT offers non-contact boxing classes for female bodies of all abilities, races, shapes, and sizes across North Devon.

OUR MISSION is to provide a supportive community for women using our journeys to inspire and empower others. The WARRIOR WOMEN project offers designed spaces to move, build, and socialise. We embrace diversity and body positivity: everyone is welcome here.

The benefits of non-contact boxing for women who have experienced trauma or difficulties with confidence are extensive and transformative. Engaging in this form of exercise helps people to feel physically empowered and is a significant stress reliever. It plays an important role in boosting mental health and overall well-being. Women who take part in non-contact boxing often feel more confident, as well as mentally and physically stronger.

Boxing classes also offer a sense of community, providing a supportive and understanding network for those with similar experiences. It encourages mindfulness, allowing individuals to be in the present and gain greater control over their bodies and minds.

  • Dr George Capone

    FOUNDER

George is both an experienced Clinical Psychologist and dedicated Boxing Coach. Specialising in body-based therapies, she integrates non-contact boxing classes and embodied life coaching to support people in coming home to their bodies and reconnecting with themselves.

Full of energy, attracting names like ‘Tigger’ in her training sessions, George is in her element when it comes to boxing. She found boxing later in life, entering in to her first charity boxing fight at the ripe age of 34 years old. Movement has always been a big part of her life though and she has dabbled in dance, burlesque, watersports (to name a few!). She can personally vouch for the power of movement as a way to both express and reconnect back to yourself.

George is passionate about creating a community for women who have experienced trauma or struggle with confidence. As a result, she felt drawn to develop and offer a way of moving to support women to embrace and unleash their anger in healthy ways. She loves nothing more than being able to support women to feel empowered and strong in their bodies. And hence, the Warrior Women project was born!
